Conversational Solfege: Overview – Saturday March 2nd 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

With the Conversational Solfege approach, music literacy starts with great literature and an “ear-before-eye” philosophy that correlates with the National Standards. Great songs are broken down into their component parts and then reassembled so that students can bring greater musical understanding to everything they do. This session is a basic overview of the 12-step teaching method that carefully brings students from readiness to, ultimately, creating music through inner hearing and then transferring their musical thoughts into notation—in other words, to compose music!

Conversational Solfege: Games with a Purpose -Saturday, March 2nd 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

This is a follow-up session of Conversational Solfege: Overview. Come and explore many of the fun and effective techniques and games listed in the Conversational Solfege teacher’s manual. The techniques are the important tools we use to take students through the 12 steps. We will focus on both rhythm and tonal and go sequentially through the steps.

Saturday, March 2nd 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
