4th Biennial FAME Conference

Coming to Philadelphia!
July 17 – 19, 2020

Mark your calendars NOW for our 4th biennial FAME Conference in Philiadelphia! It is sure to be the best FAME conference yet! Building on the success of last year’s Pre-Conference, we are planning for an expanded Pre-Conference offering. In addition to the 3 Day Pre-Conference Certification Courses in both First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege and the 4 hour Warmup Sessions for First Steps and Conversational Solfege, we have added one day Movement workshops with a different teacher each day. To lead them, we will welcome co-creator of The Book of Movement Exploration and Laban specialist Jane Kahan, and will be welcoming Penny Mahoney! We are adding a 4 hour Warmup Session for FS Infant/Toddler on Friday morning followed by the FS Preschool & Beyond Warmup Friday afternoon.

In addition, David Coffin will be leading the Community Sing and giving a workshop on how to lead a successful Community Sing and Susan Brumfield will be giving the Keynote on Saturday morning. As always, you will enjoy informative and fun sessions presented by experienced master teachers who will demonstrate applications/insights of First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege. All this is presented at the ultra-convenient Marriott Airport at the Philadelphia Airport. Join in the excitement and find thoughtful and energetic fellowship with others who share the 30-year plan for a more tuneful, beatful, and artful world.

The main Conference starts out with the Strawberry Social and evening Folk dance. Join us for an evening of traditional folk dances from America and around the world. Penny Mahoney will be calling the dances danced to live music.

DR_John_Profile“Join us for an inspiring weekend – bringing music educators together to experience the joy and exuberance of song and dance, the opportunity to explore best practices in teaching methods, and the benefit of sharing common experiences with colleagues who share a passion for advancing musical learning for all students.”
                                  – Dr. John Feierabend

Whether you are a student just learning about the Feierabend Approach to Music Education or a seasoned educator who has used this method for years, you’ll learn something at the FAME Conference. A great weekend with like-minded people who all share the same enthusiasm.

Registration and hotel reservation information will be coming soon! It will be announced in the FAME Newsletter and Facebook when it is available.
