Famously enjoyed during the annual ‘Last Night at the Proms’ at Royal Albert Hall, the sea-song ‘Jack’s the Lad’ (hornpipe) has always been a crowd favourite. With its origins as a sailor’s dance on cramped and crowded ships, the simple and repetitive melody is a fun and exciting way for students to experience form in music through expressive movements. Easily adaptable for our youngest learners yet the background and hockey theme make it very engaging for our upper grades. Imagine have your entire school mirror this Move It!
