How do I apply to have a workshop or class endorsed as a FAME-endorsed elective?
Do you have a workshop or class that could become a FAME-endorsed elective?
Stipulations for a FAME-Endorsed Elective:
- The elective must be at least three hours in instructional time but may be longer.
- It must align with FAME’s Core Values and Beliefs:
- Musicianship: Developing the tuneful, beatful, and artful skills of all individuals from the earliest age possible to grow musical people.
- Education: Utilizing the Feierabend philosophy of music education to foster the growth of music educators across the world.
- Community: Sharing in the joy of music-making and treasuring time together while we support, grow with, and learn from one another.
- Equity: Removing barriers to access, learning from differences, and celebrating the cultural heritage music of the world to better understand various cultures and perspectives.
- If you are not a certified FAME Teacher Trainer, you must submit:
- A resume/CV
- A letter of recommendation from a colleague who has observed your presentation.
- The FAME Electives Committee will review proposals and make recommendations to the FAME Board for approval.
- Once approved, workshops/classes do not need to be resubmitted unless significant changes are made.
